Born in Augusta, Georgia, but raised in southern Ohio byparents native to Chattanooga, Dr. Mary McKenzie has always felt she hadsouthern roots.  Pursuing medicine hasalways been a life-long dream. Shegraduated valedictorian of her local high school then went on to attendOtterbein University where she majored in life science and played volleyball. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelorof Science degree with Honors in 2002. Under the US Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program, she wascommissioned second lieutenant attending Maxwell AFB Officer Training School in2003. She graduated from Ohio UniversityCollege of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. After completing her internship in Emergency Medicine at DoctorsHospital, Columbus, Ohio she went on to serve her active duty tour for fouryears.  Stationed in middle Georgia atRobins AFB, Captain McKenzie was trained as a flight surgeon specialized inaerospace medicine, primarily managing the care of aviators and specialoperations personnel. In 2015 shecompleted her residency in Family Medicine at the University of TennesseeCollege of Medicine-Chattanooga/Erlanger Medical Center.  Dr. McKenzie served as Chief Resident and wasawarded the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award.

Her passion for the integrative medicine model evolvednaturally as an osteopathic trained physician.  A holistic approach to patientcare is a mindset that takes into consideration the whole person. It acknowledges all the facets thatcontribute to health and well-being; the mind and body are connected. Patients need to feel heard andunderstood. Offering several medicaldisciplines (acupuncture, nutrition, mental health, hormone replacement, andmassage) allows a patient easier access to more options for their healthcare.  The mind-body-spirit triad to health andhealing is exemplified by this practice and Dr. McKenzie.

She lives on Signal Mountain with her husband and threebeautiful, rambunctious boys.
